Our Itinerary
Air Travel: This tour is being offered without air travel included to provide added flexibility. Please make your own flight arrangements and ensure you arrive at The Palace Hotel, Inverness to meet the driver and join this tour at 12:30pm on May 25th. At the conclusion of the tour, you may utilize transportation to Edinburgh Airport with the group, book return flights for departure after TBD.

Day 1 Monday 25 May, 2026
Welcome to the Highlands
Make your way to Inverness and meet the group by 12:30 PM for a 1:00 PM departure from the Palace Hotel. Our journey begins with a scenic drive to Loch Ness, where you’ll enjoy a cruise on the legendary lake and a visit to the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle, perched on its shores. Later, we continue north through breathtaking Highland landscapes to the remote and picturesque village of Tongue and gather for a welcome dinner in the hotel.

Day 2 Tuesday 26 May, 2026
Orkney Island Adventure
After breakfast, we embark on an unforgettable day trip to the Orkney Islands, rich in ancient history and windswept beauty. From Scrabster, take the ferry to Stromness, and explore iconic sites such as the Ring of Brodgar, a Neolithic stone circle older than Stonehenge, and Skara Brae, Europe’s best-preserved prehistoric village. Return to the mainland by evening.

Day 3 Wednesday 27 May, 2026
Castles and Culture
This morning, we bid farewell to Tongue and travel south to the fairytale-like Dunrobin Castle, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Sutherland with free time for lunch at the castle café. We then continue to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, where you’ll have some leisure time before gathering for a group meal.

Day 4 Thursday 28 May, 2026
Highland Beauty and Distilleries
After breakfast, travel to the charming town of Aviemore for a short visit and shopping opportunity. We then journey through the Cairngorms National Park, stopping in Kingussie for lunch on our own and browsing local shops. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour and tasting at the historic Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry.

Day 5 Thursday 29 May, 2026
Castles, Falls & Royal Views
Today begins with a visit to Blair Castle and Gardens, steeped in centuries of Scottish history. We’ll then stop at the Killiecrankie Gorge, a dramatic and historic site from the Jacobite uprisings, followed by a gentle hike to the scenic Falls of Bruar. Continue to Queen’s View, one of the most photographed vistas in Scotland. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit to the Atholl Palace Museum, which shares the story of this elegant Victorian hotel. Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day 6 Friday 30 May, 2026
From Highlands to Capital
After breakfast, we head south to the city of Stirling for a short visit of the historic town center and free time for lunch. This afternoon, stop at the evocative ruins of Linlithgow Palace, birthplace of Mary, Queen of Scots. By early evening, we arrive in Edinburgh, where you’ll enjoy dinner at your leisure and your first taste of Scotland’s vibrant capital.

Day 7 Saturday 31 May, 2026
Edinburgh’s Iconic Sights
After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the iconic Edinburgh Castle, set high atop Castle Rock with panoramic views of the city. Explore the historic Grassmarket district, then visit the peaceful Parish Church of St. Cuthbert. In the afternoon, enjoy a special visit to the mystical Rosslyn Chapel, famous for its ornate carvings and connections to the Knights Templar and the Da Vinci Code.

Farewell Scotland
