At the conclusion of the tour, you may utilize transportation to the Dublin airport with the group. Please book your return flight after 1:30pm. Saturday, June 7
Depart the USA this evening aboard United Airlines from Newark.
Day1
Sunday, June 8
Céad míle fáilte! Arrive in Shannon Airport. We meet our driver/guide, Corkman Lesley Daunt, board our luxury coach and head north to Westport, overlooking Clew Bay. Stop for tea/coffee and scones along the way. Time to relax before tonight in our hotel.

Day 2
Monday, June 9
Today picturesque touring in the Northwest. Starting at Clew Bay, reputed to have 365 islands, continue via Newport and across the Curraun Peninsula to reach Achill Island. Travel along the Atlantic drive to capture scenic views of steeply sloped mountains plunging into the Atlantic Ocean. See the Deserted Village, home to the remains of nearly 100 abandoned stone cottages. Dinner on your own this evening. Explore some of the many fine pubs in town. Perhaps Mr. Kennedy he will regale you with some songs.

Day 3
Tuesday, June 10
After breakfast travel to Sligo to visit the Yeats’ Center – Hear the Nobel prize-winner’s poetry spoken in the place it was imagined. There will be time to look at artefacts, photos, books and ask questions about Ireland’s National Poet. Enjoy a short visit in Sligo town. Arrive in Donegal in the early afternoon. Visit Donegal Castle towering over the River Eske. Red Hugh O’Donnell built the castle as his personal fortress in the fifteenth century. Some time to enjoy a stroll along Rossnowlagh beach before dinner. Overnight: Sandhouse Hotel, Donegal (B, D)
Day 4
Wednesday, June 11
This morning visit Slieve League and experience a view that is guaranteed to take your breath away. A sheer drop of roughly 2,000 feet separates the Atlantic Ocean from the highest point of the cliffs. Next stop the Triona Design Center in Ardara. See the tweed making process from start to finish. Some time to shop and enjoy complimentary tea and freshly baked scones.

Day 5
Thursday, June 12
Today on route to Derry stop to visit The Stone Fort of Grianán of Aileach which sits on a hilltop. The view from Aileach is breathtaking. Arrive in Derry where a local guide will take us on a walking tour of its medieval city walls. Learn about the city’s fascinating history. Some free time to have lunch. After hotel check in visit the Walled City Brewery to learn about the brewing process and enjoy a pint of their most popular beer, ‘kicks’.

Day 6
Friday, June 13
After a hearty Ulster fry visit step back in time and visit The Ulster American Folk Park.
See the boyhood home of Thomas Mellon, who emigrated to Pittsburgh in 1818 and later founded the Mellon Bank. The Park traces the story of Ulster emigrants from the “Old Country” to the “New World” in Colonial times. Next stop Glenshane Farm to see the sheepdogs at work. Enjoy the view of the Slieve Gallion, Lough Neagh and the Mourne mountains.

Day 7
Saturday, June 14
This morning visit the Giant’s Causeway. After an audiovisual presentation, we will view the spectacular hexagonal volcanic basalt columns. Learn about the mythical giant Finn McCool, who created the Causeway. We next journey along the coast, with a brief photo stop at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, originally a fisherman’s crossing and at Dunluce Castle, one of the most photographed spots on the entire island. Arrive in Belfast. Who knows what musical interlude Seamus has planned for this evening? But it will be fun!

Day 8
Sunday, June 15
Today visit the Titanic Museum located in the heart of the city. Inside this iconic building, we will re-live the entire Titanic story from her birth in Belfast to the fateful maiden voyage. Next, a bus tour of the city with a local guide. We’ll see the imposing City Hall on Donegall Square and learn about the diverse history of this ancient city. Free afternoon. Perhaps a visit to award-winning St George’s Market (open 10am – 4pm), housed in a charming Victorian building or drop into the Crown Pub dating back to the 1880s. (across the street from your hotel)

Day 9
Monday, June 16
After breakfast meet local guide Dara Barrett for a tour of Milltown Cemetery. Stop in Armagh, the ecclesiastical capital of Ireland with two imposing cathedrals, both named for St. Patrick – one Catholic, one Church of Ireland. Arrive at the Castle Leslie Estate in the afternoon with some time to relax before your farewell dinner at Snaffles, a 2 AA Rosette award-winning restaurant.

Day 10
Tuesday, June 17
After breakfast drive to Dublin Airport. You will clear US Customs, Border Protection (Passport) and TSA in time for a little last minute Duty-Free shopping. You’ll arrive back in the U.S. as a “domestic” passenger making it convenient to connect to an onward flight or to exit the airport with ease. Slán abhaile! – Safe home! (B)
