Suggested Itinerary

Shop Street, Galway City

Day 1: Arrive in Ireland – Travel to Galway
After arriving at either Dublin Airport, collect your rental car and begin your journey westward to Galway City. As you travel through the heart of the country, take time to enjoy the changing scenery, from rolling farmland to the wild Atlantic coastline. Upon arrival in Galway, check in at the elegant Park House Hotel, ideally located in the city center. Settle in, then step out to explore the cobbled streets of this lively town. You might visit Eyre Square, stroll through the Latin Quarter, or enjoy dinner and traditional music in one of Galway’s many pubs.

Day 2: Explore Galway or Venture into the Wilds of Connemara or the Aran Islands
Spend the day getting to know the spirit of the West. You can remain in town to explore the city’s shops, galleries, and historic landmarks, such as the Spanish Arch and Galway Cathedral. Alternatively, take a scenic drive into the rugged and remote landscapes of Connemara. Along the way, you’ll encounter sparkling lakes, stone walls, and perhaps visit Kylemore Abbey, nestled beneath the mountains. If the weather is favorable, consider taking a ferry to Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands, where you can walk or bike past ancient forts and windswept cliffs. Return to Galway for a relaxed evening in town.

Day 3: Galway to Killarney via the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren
Today’s drive takes you south along the Wild Atlantic Way, offering some of Ireland’s most iconic scenery. Begin with a visit to the Cliffs of Moher, where sheer rock faces plunge dramatically into the Atlantic. Continue through the unique limestone landscape of the Burren, a region known for its rare flora and stark beauty. You may wish to stop in the village of Doolin, famed for traditional music, or pause in the heritage town of Adare before arriving in Killarney. Check in to the centrally located Killarney International Hotel and enjoy an evening discovering the town’s many welcoming pubs and restaurants.

Day 4: Discover the Beauty of County Kerry – Ring of Kerry or Dingle Peninsula
Today, choose between two of Ireland’s most scenic coastal drives. The Ring of Kerry offers a full day of breathtaking vistas, glacial lakes, Atlantic views, and charming villages like Sneem and Kenmare. Alternatively, head to the Dingle Peninsula for a slightly shorter but equally stunning route. Along the way, visit the harbor town of Dingle, drive along Slea Head, and admire the sea views toward the Blasket Islands. Back in Killarney, you might take an evening stroll through the town’s colorful streets or relax in the hotel lounge.

Day 5: Killarney to Kilkenny via Blarney Castle and the Rock of Cashel
Depart Killarney this morning and make your way toward Kilkenny, with opportunities to stop at two of Ireland’s most storied landmarks. First, visit Blarney Castle, where you can kiss the famed Blarney Stone and explore the castle’s lush gardens. Continue eastward to the Rock of Cashel, a dramatic medieval complex set on a limestone outcrop. Arrive in Kilkenny in the late afternoon and check in to the stylish Pembroke Hotel, located in the heart of the city. Spend the evening wandering the narrow medieval streets, discovering local pubs, or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere of this charming town.

Day 6: Kilkenny to Dublin – Arrive and Return Rental Car
After breakfast, take a bit of time to explore Kilkenny further. You may wish to visit Kilkenny Castle, stroll along the River Nore, or browse the city’s many artisan shops and galleries. Then, make the final drive of your journey as you head to Dublin, where you’ll return your rental car upon arrival. Check in for two nights at the Davenport Hotel, a stylish and centrally located base for exploring the capital. This evening, take a walk along the River Liffey or dine in one of Dublin’s vibrant neighborhoods, such as Temple Bar or St. Stephen’s Green.

Day 7: Explore Dublin at Your Leisure
Today is yours to enjoy Dublin, a city rich in history and full of energy. We recommend using a hop-on, hop-off sightseeing pass to make the most of your time and get oriented easily. Stops may include Trinity College, home of the Book of Kells; Dublin Castle; St. Patrick’s Cathedral; and the Guinness Storehouse. You’ll have plenty of time to explore on your own, whether you want to shop along Grafton Street, take in an exhibit at the National Gallery, or enjoy lunch in a local café. In the evening, consider catching live music in a traditional pub or joining a storytelling dinner experience for a memorable final night.

Day 8: Depart from Dublin
Depending on your flight time, you may have a chance for a final stroll or a hearty Irish breakfast before heading to Dublin Airport for your departure
