Day 2
Welcome to Ireland & Ennis

Tuesday 22 June 2027

Arrive in Dublin at 5:15 a.m. After meeting your driver/guide, you’ll head west toward County Clare. To kick off the morning, stop for tea and scones and a chance to stretch your legs. Continue across the country to Wilde Chocolate, where you’ll have the chance to see and taste some of the wonderful chocolate being made here in Ireland. It’s your first introduction to the talented craftspeople and producers you’ll meet throughout the trip.

You’ll continue on to Ennis, one of County Clare’s most enjoyable towns. After checking into your hotel, you’ll have some time to relax after your overnight flight. If you’re up for exploring, Ennis is easy to walk around, with colorful streets, independent shops and plenty of traditional Irish character.

The day concludes with a group welcome dinner to meet your fellow travelers.

Overnight: Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis (D)

Day 3
Cliffs of Moher and the Burren

Wednesday 23 June 2027

Today features some of Ireland’s most iconic landscapes. First, visit the majestic Cliffs of Moher, stretching for miles along the Atlantic coast with views of the Aran Islands. You’ll have time to walk along the paths, enjoy the views and, of course, take plenty of photographs.

From the cliffs, you’ll make your way through the Burren, one of the most unusual landscapes in Ireland. The limestone pavement, stone walls and small patches of wildflowers give the area a character all its own. It’s a beautiful drive, and your driver/guide will point out some of the interesting places and stories along the way.  Return to Ennis with the evening free to enjoy as you choose.

Overnight: Temple Gate Hotel, Ennis (B)

Day 4
Lough Gill, Carrowmore & Sligo

Thursday 24 June 2027

Today you’ll travel north to Sligo, with some wonderful stops along the way. Enjoy the Rose of Innisfree boat tour on Lough Gill. The lake is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is closely associated with the poet W. B. Yeats, whose poem The Lake Isle of Innisfree was inspired by this part of Ireland. It’s a peaceful way to experience the scenery and a nice change of pace from the road.

You’ll then visit Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery, one of Ireland’s most important prehistoric sites. The ancient stone monuments here date back thousands of years and offer a fascinating glimpse into Ireland’s very early history. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Sligo and check into the Glasshouse Hotel, right in the center of town. Tonight, you’ll have dinner together and have another opportunity to share stories from the day.

Overnight: The Glasshouse, Sligo (B,D)

Day 5
Belleek, Donegal & Magee 1866

Friday 25 June 2027

This morning you’ll leave Sligo and continue north toward County Donegal. Along the way, you’ll stop at Belleek, home of the famous Belleek Pottery. You’ll learn a little about the history of this Irish pottery tradition and have time to browse the shop. From there, you’ll continue to Donegal Town and visit Magee 1866, one of Ireland’s best-known textile names. You’ll enjoy a demonstration and learn more about the traditional skills and techniques that go into making their famous tweeds. This should be a particularly fun stop for you if you love textiles. You’ll have the opportunity to see the colors, textures and patterns of Irish textiles up close and, of course, there will be time to shop. After, you’ll have time to explore Donegal Town. Browse the local shops, stop for a coffee or simply enjoy wandering around town before heading to the hotel. This evening, you’ll gather for dinner together at the hotel.

Overnight: Mill Park, Donegal (B,D)

Day 6
Glenveagh National Park & Castle

Saturday 26 June 2027

Today is all about enjoying the beautiful Donegal countryside. You’ll travel into Glenveagh National Park, a spectacular area of mountains, lakes, forests and open countryside in the heart of the Derryveagh Mountains. It’s one of those places where you’ll want to keep your camera handy. You’ll visit Glenveagh Castle, a romantic 19th-century castle overlooking Lough Veagh. You’ll have time to explore the castle and gardens and enjoy the setting. The gardens are particularly lovely and make for a very pleasant walk. After your visit, you’ll return to Donegal for the evening. With no group dinner planned tonight, you’re free to choose your own restaurant or perhaps enjoy a drink and a casual meal at the hotel.

Overnight: Mill Park, Donegal (B)

Day 7
Sheepdogs, Sheep Shearing & Belfast

Sunday 27 June 2027

Today you’ll continue north toward Belfast, with one of the most special experiences of the trip along the way. You’ll stop at Glenshane Country Farm, where you’ll meet Jamese McCloy, the fourth-generation owner and shepherd. Jamese will introduce you to life on the farm with a sheepdog and sheep-shearing demonstration. You’ll also experience the farm’s new Fleece to Fashion story, which follows the journey from sheep’s fleece through the process of creating the wool products you know and love. For you as a group of quilters and textile enthusiasts, this is a wonderful opportunity to see the connection between the Irish countryside and the traditional fabrics that have become such an important part of Ireland’s identity.

This evening, you’ll keep things casual with a group fish and chips dinner, a Belfast favorite and a fun way to spend the evening together.
Overnight: The Europa, Belfast (B,D)

Day 8
Derry, Shirt Tales & the Giant’s Causeway

Monday 28 June 2027

Today you’ll head west to Derry, a fascinating city with a long history and strong textile traditions. You’ll visit Shirt Tales NI, where you’ll learn about the history of shirt making in Northern Ireland and the important role the industry played in the region. It’s another great opportunity to see how traditional skills and local industry have shaped Northern Ireland. After some time to explore Derry on your own, you’ll continue north toward the Giant’s Causeway. The Giant’s Causeway is one of those places that really does live up to the photographs. Thousands of unusual basalt columns stretch along the coastline, creating a landscape unlike anywhere else. You’ll have time to explore and enjoy the scenery before beginning your drive back toward Belfast. This evening is free for you to choose your own dinner in Belfast.
