Tuesday, September 24 – We meet our driver/guide, board our luxury coach and head north to the city of Belfast. Stop for tea/coffee and scones along the way through Downpatrick for a visit to St. Patrick Culture Center and his burial site. We’ll continue to the city of Belfast and dine together in the Grand Central Hotel. They’ll be time to freshen and relax before meeting your fellow travelers for dinner. Wednesday, September 25 – First breakfast! There’s nothing like the traditional Irish Breakfast which typically includes bacon rashers, pork sausages, fried eggs (or scrambled), black and white pudding, toast and fried tomato. Now to work off that breakfast, who is ready for some Pickleball? Return to the hotel to refresh and have lunch on our own. In the afternoon meet your group and board the bus for a local’s tour of the city and insights into the Troubles that divided Belfast and how they shaped the city and its street Art. See colorful murals created by both Nationalist and Loyalist communities, including the celebrated Peace Wall. This evening is free to explore the city. Overnight: Grand Central Hotel, Belfast (B, P)
Thursday, September 26 – After breakfast we will drive to Lisburn for a game of Pickleball. Return to the hotel to refresh and have lunch on our own. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Titanic Museum, located on the slipways where RMS Titanic was built. Re-live the entire Titanic story from her birth in Belfast to the fateful maiden voyage, and her eventual discovery on the seabed.

Friday, September 27 – This morning we will drive up into Co. Antrim with magnificent scenery all around. A brief photo stop at the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, originally a fisherman’s crossing, and on to the Giant’s Causeway a world heritage site. We will have an opportunity to walk down and view the spectacular hexagonal volcanic basalt columns. Learn about the mythical giant Finn McCool, who created the Causeway. Up next, a walking tour around Derry’s medieval city walls. Dinner tonight in our hotel.

Saturday, September 28 – After breakfast we will set off to play Pickleball. Return to the hotel to refresh before travelling west along the coast of Donegal to experience Slieve League, one of Europe’s highest and most majestic sea cliffs rising almost 1980 feet from the Atlantic, with a breathtaking view. Next a brief stop at a wonderful tweed shop in Ardara (if time allows) to learn about the heritage of spinning and weaving that Southwest County Donegal is famous for. Sunday, September 29 – After another hearty “Full Irish” breakfast, we will travel south to Galway stopping on the way to see the grave of the famous Irish poet W.B Yeats in Co. Sligo. Arrive in Galway and check into our hotel. After a quick turnaround we are off to play Pickleball in Salthill. Dinner tonight in your hotel. Overnight: Ardilaun Hotel, Galway (B, D, P)
Monday, September 30 – This morning, visit the famed Connemara region with gorgeous views of bogs and misty mountains. Enjoy a cruise on Ireland’s only fjord, located in Killary. The area is breathtaking for its dramatic scenery. Next stop – the Connemara History & Heritage Center which offers a unique insight into the history and heritage of this beautiful part of the West of Ireland. See how turf (peat) is cut and sample a drop of ‘poitín’ (moonshine). Overnight: Ardilaun Hotel, Galway (B)
Tuesday, October 1– Today travel east to Ireland’s capital city of Dublin. A brief stop on route before arriving in Portmarnock. We will be ready to stretch our legs, who is ready for a game of Pickleball? Next into the city center to check into our hotel overlooking St. Stephens Green. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight: The Green Hotel, Dublin (B, P)
Wednesday, October 2 – This morning, enjoy a panoramic tour of Dublin City which will include O’Connell Street, elegant Georgian squares with their tall, red-brick townhouses, colorful doors, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Next visit the Guinness Storehouse, a former fermentation plant and learn everything about the world-famous beer. The highlight is the 7th floor Gravity Bar, where we will sample a pint of “the black stuff” and enjoy the breathtaking views across the City. Next a visit to Trinity College and the Book of Kells. The remainder of the afternoon is free to explore this wonderful city our own. Overnight: The Green Hotel, Dublin (B)
Thursday, October 3 – After breakfast depart for Dublin Airport where you’ll clear US Customs, Border Protection (Passport) and TSA in time for a little last-minute Duty-Free shopping. You’ll arrive back in the U.S. as a “domestic” passenger making it convenient to connect to an onward flight or to exit the airport with ease. Slán abhaile! – Safe home!
