Our Itinerary

Departure Day – Tuesday 22^nd August

Depart the US on an overnight flight to Edinburgh (not included in tour price).  Ask Isle Inn Tours if you need assistance booking flight.

Day 1:  Wednesday 23^rd August 

Arrive Edinburgh by 11:00am for the transfer to the hotel in Dumfries.

Dinner at hotel

Overnight: Holiday Inn Dumfries, Dumfries (D)

 

Day 2:  Thursday 24^th August  

Full day touring to Ayrshire to visit Culzean Castle and Robert Burns Birthplace Museum

Or visit to Carlisle Tullie House Museum, Carlisle Castle and the Cathedral (if Clan outing is not going to Carlisle on Sunday)

Dinner at hotel.

Overnight: Holiday Inn Dumfries, Dumfries (B, D)

 

Day 3:  Friday 25^th August 15, 2022

Attend the Gathering in Newcastleton

• You will be dropped off in Newcastleton for a shuttle to Redheugh
• The Gathering will include lunch as part of the program
  • Purchase tickets directly from Clan Elliot at £52 ($65)pp
    • 2023 Elliot Clan Gathering | Elliot Clan Society
• Shuttle back to Redheugh to meet coach to return to hotel

Overnight: Holiday Inn Dumfries, Dumfries (B, D)

 

Day 4:  Saturday 26^th August

Attend the Holm Show & visit Hermitage Castle

• Visit Hermitage castle – allow an hour for Hermitage
• Visit Liddesdale Heritage Centre
• Holm Show should only take about 2 hours

Overnight: Holiday Inn Dumfries, Dumfries (B, D)

 

Day 5:  Sunday 27^th Aug

Join the rest of the Clan on their day tour (TBD by the committee)

• Attend church services at Esk Church
• Itinerary for this day still to be decided but lunch confirmed at Hetland Hall (tickets for this day to be purchased direct from Clan).
• Travel to Peebles for overnight.

Overnight: Peebles Hydro Hotel, Peebles (B, D)

 

Day 6:  Monday 28^th August

Tour the area around Peebles including visits to Jedburgh Abbey and Abbotsford.

Overnight: Peebles Hydro Hotel, Peebles (B, D)

 

Day 7:  Tuesday 29^th August

Depart hotel in morning and transfer to Edinburgh. On arrival sightseeing tour including visit to Edinburgh Castle.

Check-in to hotel with the rest of the day free for independent sightseeing.

Farewell dinner in city center restaurant.

Overnight: Mercure Haymarket Hotel, Edinburgh (B, D)

 

Day 8:  Wednesday 31^st August 

Transfer to airport & return home. Transfer time TBD. (B)
